Mike Represents the Conservative Party at the National Governors Association Meeting in Rhode Island

Mike was selected as the Conservative caucus representative to attend the summer meeting of the National Governors Association (NGA) on behalf of the Canadian Section of the Canada-United States Inter-Parliamentary Group. Mike has regularly attended NGA meetings, as part of an on-going dialogue on Canada-US issues with fellow legislators in the United States.

The NGA meetings happen twice annually, and convene US governors to discuss issues affecting the country. Mike has built solid relationships with American governors from both parties, and has been a strong advocate for US investment in Alberta, particularly  in an era of uncertain trade relations. Mike also spoke with legislators on the importance of maintaining momentum on the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular the gains made in global maternal, newborn and child health.
