On April 16, Mike joined a panel of federal party representatives and welcomed teachers from across Ontario to kick-off a ‘Democratic Bootcamp’ teacher training conference organized by CIVIX. The goal of the Bootcamp is to improve the democratic engagement of classroom teachers, and their ability to deliver the Student Vote program in the upcoming federal election.
CIVIX is an organization that provides hands-on learning opportunities to help young Canadians practice their rights and responsibilities as citizens. CIVIX works with elementary and secondary school educators across Canada to deliver a program that focuses on democratic participation, current affairs, deliberative dialogue, research and professional development opportunities.
