On April 14, McGill University held a ‘Global is Local’ workshop in Montreal to discuss the advancement of community-based mental health on a global scale. The workshop brought together interdisciplinary perspectives on global mental health to identity barriers and facilitators to future research, practice, and policy options.
Mike addressed attendees along with keynote speaker Dr. Vikram Patel. Dr. Patel is a world-renowned psychiatrist with an interest in global mental health. In London, he co-directs the Centre for Global Mental Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and he led the efforts to set up the Movement for Global Mental Health, a network that supports mental health care as a basic human right.
