Statistics Canada issued its first 2016 Census report this week. It included a summary of the population of Canada’s 338 federal constituencies. Edmonton-Wetaskiwin ranked #1 by a huge margin, as you can see in the attached chart. For reference, electoral boundaries are adjusted every ten years based on population. The last adjustment was done prior to the 2015 election, with all new constituencies in Alberta starting around 111,000 people. We are now just under 160,000.
While this growing number can be a challenge, Mike will meet that challenge by increasing the number of opportunities to connect through constituent roundtable meetings and other special events.
